Set on a 4,500-hectare working cattle farm in the Karoo, bordering the Anysberg Nature Reserve, the wide, open landscape brings a sense of space and stillness that is difficult to find elsewhere.
The Anysberg
Welcome to the vast, quiet landscape of the Anysberg region. This is the natural home of Cape mountain zebra, caracal, and the critically endangered riverine rabbit. Leopards still roam these mountains, though they are seldom seen, and despite the apparent dryness of the Karoo, the plant life is remarkably rich.
The farm looks out across open plains toward the distant blue outline of the majestic Cape Fold Mountains. Although only a few hours from Cape Town, the sense of space and separation from the noise of everyday life is immediate. The grandeur of this landscape invites a reconnection with self, with others and with nature.
The Accommodation
Guests can choose between the Mountain House or the private cottages, depending on their preference.
The Mountain House
The Mountain House includes three bedrooms, a shared lounge, dining room, and kitchen. One of the bedrooms has its own en-suite bathroom. This option offers couples a more spacious and secluded environment.
The Cottages
The cottages offer comfortable and relaxed accommodation for couples. Each cottage contains two private bedrooms, and every room has its own en-suite bathroom. The cottages also include a small shared lounge and kitchen area, creating a simple and welcoming space to relax between retreat activities.
Catering
All meals are included during the retreat. Guests are served three nourishing, farm-style meals each day. Meals are eaten together, a time to relax, reflect and converse with the other couples attending the retreat.
The food reflects the spirit of the Karoo — generous, wholesome, and unpretentious. Evenings may include relaxed outdoor meals or a traditional braai under the wide Karoo sky, where the pace of the day slows and the warmth of shared company becomes part of the experience.
